LaunchCode Internship: Advancement Intern


LaunchCode is a non-profit solving the tech talent gap and paving new pathways to economic opportunity through apprenticeships and job placement in technology.  Our interns will have the unique opportunity to participate in the growth of a mission-driven startup, as well as help advance the local and national tech economy. LaunchCode is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as an Intern in our Advancement department, which is focused on growing financial support for our programs. Interns will work closely with the professional fundraising team to support the success of our campaigns and grow the impact of our training and job placement programs.


  1. Research donor prospects and do outreach to set up in-person meetings and introductory phone calls.
  2. Help clean-up and manage fundraising database, work on grant/gift compliance and do related data entry.
  3. Assist with execution of development-oriented meetings and events.
  4. Learn about LaunchCode's mission, programming and funding streams. Be able to speak articulately to them with strangers.
  5. Provide input into how LaunchCode can design and improve our fundraising campaigns.


Unpaid -- willing to provide documentation in support of course credits

Open to Current students and recent graduates

At least 10 hours per week

Duration: current opening through Winter and/or Spring Semesters


  1. Are committed to the notion that driven people should have the opportunity to access a fulfilling career in technology.
  2. Have proficiency with spreadsheets and Google docs. Bonus if you have experience with Salesforce.
  3. Think attention to detail is important and have strong interest in helping build a constantly improving fundraising process.
  4. Are an excellent writer, communicator and public speaker.
  5. Have excellent interpersonal and people management skills.
  6. Can be an effective team member in high-intensity environments and able to thrive under pressure.
