Product Management Instructor

We're looking for a self-motivated Product Management Instructor to help us expand tech greatness in the Saint Louis area.

A Product Management Instructor researches, designs, creates, maintains, and teaches custom curriculum. They work closely with the Director of Technical Training, and LaunchCode Partner Companies to assess technical trends and needs in the Product space. Outside of building new curriculum, a Product Management Instructor regularly manages and iterates on existing curriculum. In addition, the role engages with other experts to work through any curriculum issues while classes are running. In addition they teach the material as a subject matter expert to LaunchCode Partner Companies in a professional manner.

Essential Functions

Curriculum Development

  • Work with the Director of Technical Training to research, scope, design, and build curriculum.
  • Regularly assess and improve existing course materials.
  • Maintain the curriculum of actively run courses.
  • Maintain technical products necessary for Product Management curriculum.


  • Work with the Director of Technical Training to assess curriculum demand.
  • Occasionally meet with partner companies to assess specific company Product Management needs.
  • Keep an eye on current Product Management trends, technologies, and concepts.
  • Gather and assess data from Product Management courses to determine course improvements.


  • Deliver the material to Partner Companies as a subject matter expert, conveying the curriculum in a professional manner.
  • Ability to answer student questions and relate topics to real world situations
  • Be flexible in the manner in which the course is delivered (full-time, part-time)
  • Perform a retrospective analysis with Company Partner following the conclusion of each course to iterate on improvements for the future.


  • Ability to work independently to deliver curriculum.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong expository writing and editing skills.
  • Strong desire to constantly learn about Product Management related topics.
  • Familiarity with Product Management topics (Kanban, Design Thinking, Product Ownership, Scrum, Agile).
  • Experience with any scripting language.
  • Experience with any programming language.
  • Understanding of how different languages, framework, and technologies relate to each other.
  • Empathy for learners from a variety of backgrounds.

Position Type

Contract - Part Time: 20 to 30 Hours per week

  • Competitive salary - This will be a contract position in the range of $25 to $35 per hour.

  • Paid family leave - Employees who have been with LaunchCode for at least 6 months are eligible for a family leave plan of up to 3 weeks paid and 3 weeks unpaid. Employees who have been with LaunchCode for at least 1 year are eligible for a family leave plan of up to 6 weeks paid and 6 weeks unpaid. Family leave is offered to all eligible employees, regardless of gender.
