LaunchCode:

Tech Leadership Fellow

We Heart Diversity

Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other historically underrepresented folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit!

LaunchCode supports and fosters leadership from underrepresented communities. We strongly encourage folks from immigrant communities and communities of color, as well as those who identify as women, LGBTQ, or under-resourced to apply. LaunchCode is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. Program and employment policies of LaunchCode are nondiscriminatory in regard to race, color, gender, religion, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, or sexual orientation.

LaunchCode

LaunchCode is a non-profit solving the tech talent gap and paving new pathways to economic opportunity through free education, apprenticeships, and job placement in technology. Are you passionate about sharing your coding skills with others? Do you have programming chops and communication skills? Does the thought of preparing people for employment sing to your soul? Then you, my friend, should contract with us.

Tech Leadership Fellow Responsibilities

LaunchCode Tech Leadership Fellows guide a group of students as their principal education and support point of contact throughout LaunchCode programs, while simultaneously refining their own professional development goals. The team leadership experience will provide the opportunity to grow your own leadership, people management, and group facilitation skills.

Tech Leadership Fellows complete 12 hours of paid training in teaching and facilitation fundamentals, project and people management, diversity and inclusion, and community building. Fellows will then serve in LaunchCode's CoderGirl program (typically 6-8 paid hours per week for 20-40 weeks), while facilitating class activities, hosting learner office hours and grading learner submissions.

Fellowship opportunities are available in the following tracks: Data Analysis, Data Science, Product Management, SQL, Salesforce, Java Web Development and C#/.NET Web Development (more details below).

This role reports to the LaunchCode Candidate Engagement Manager.
